We must be easy to please because Pantone's annual announcement is always exciting news. And the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year is....

It's a beautiful color that's complimentary to many skin tones. But, the selection also has a deeper meaning that quite intriguing. Per the the folks at Pantone, ULTRA-VIOLET 18-3838:
"...communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future. Enigmatic purples have also long been symbolic of counterculture, unconventionality, and artistic brilliance. Musical icons Prince, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix brought shades of Ultra Violet to the forefront of western pop culture as personal expressions of individuality."
For now, we'll say au revoir -- not goodbye -- to GREENERY 15-0343, the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year. It will not be forgotten and it remains a favorite at LUVI. But as a beauty site, we love the idea that ULTRA-VIOLET 18-3838 speaks to individualism and creativity.
